Welcome to the Collie Pioneer Lodge Website
The arrival of the railway line into Collie in 1878 to service the timber industry, and also the start of coal mining, brought families to the area from all walks of life. Many of these were professionals, tradesmen, and skilled persons necessary to the industry and commerce of the new town.
In a short time it was found that many men were Freemasons from other areas. These Masons were very keen to establish a lodge in the town. They approached the Wellington Lodge in Bunbury to sponsor the formation of a lodge in Collie and after a short time the Wellington lodge agreed.
